As a poor college student, I don't have a lot of money or time to change up my home (apartment) decor for every season/holiday! While I may do some decorating for the bigger events, I wanted to find something small that I could change more often! I bought a grapevine wreath for Thanksgiving last year (see this post for the rest of the decor!), and thought it would be the perfect base for my changing wreaths!
The key to changing this wreath every twelve months is that you can't use any adhesive! That way you can take everything off at the end of the month and start new! There aren't really any wreath-worthy holidays/events in January, so I decided to go with a simple "Let It Snow" theme. I used my new Silhouette CAMEO to cut out the adorable snowflake template I got in the cameo store! I wanted their to be a variety of snowflakes, so I made sure to buy a design that included multiple snowflakes for $0.99! I ended up cutting out 18 snowflakes total!
The banner didn't take much. I just cut some banner pieces from burlap, added the letters with sharpie, and hot glued them to the twine. Just make sure you cut the twine long enough the wrap it around the wreath several times. To attach the snowflakes, I just tucked pieces of the snowflakes into the grapevine until they felt secure. I was actually surprised at how well the snowflakes stayed in the wreath!
I love how it turned out, and I already have some ideas for future wreaths too! I'm so excited to begin this journey!
